Description

This is a late 16th-century house on Burbage High Street. It is timber framed, with brick noggings painted white, and has a thatched roof. Originally a two-bay structure, it was later extended to the south by a further three bays, with a brick lower section and timber framing above. The timber framing features straight corner braces and three panels in height between the main posts. The front entrance is in the north bay, and is a half-glazed door. Paned timber windows are present, along with a leaded dormer window in the central bay. A secondary stack is located on the north gable. To the south gable and rear, there are various sash windows, and three flush dormers. Inside, the original two bays have an upper floor supported by pegged wall rails. The central section was remodelled in the early 18th century to create a main living room.
