Description

Rowde House is a villa built around 1830-1840, constructed from ashlar stone. It features a low-pitched slate roof with deep eaves and ashlar stacks on the side ridges. The building stands two storeys tall and has a square plan with a three-window range. The eaves are supported by moulded brackets. The front façade has a raised plinth and a moulded string course, with three 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, each with sunk panels beneath. On the ground floor, there is a 12-pane sash window on each side of an ashlar enclosed porch, which has angle pilasters and an entablature, leading to a four-panel door. The side elevations also have three windows, although most of these are blank openings. At the rear, there is a red brick addition.
