Description
Linfurlong is a house located on the north side of High Street in Rowde. It dates from the late 17th century and features a timber frame that was recased in red brick in the early 19th century. The house has a thatched roof with an axial ridge stack and an east end stack. It is 1 and a half storeys tall with a two-gabled front. The gables are adorned with fretted timber bargeboards and 16-pane sash windows, with each floor featuring ashlar lintels, hoodmoulds, and sills. The central door is set in a porch that has similar bargeboards. To the right, there is possibly an extension that includes a 19th-century tripartite sash window on the first floor above the door, and a projected bay with another tripartite sash, both covered by a stone slate pent roof. The west end wall displays similar bargeboards, a small timber oriel window on the first floor, and a pair of casement windows on the ground floor. The timber framing is exposed at the east end.
