Description
The Crown Hotel is an 18th-century building located on the east side of The Parade. It is two storeys tall, constructed of half red brick and half vitreous brick, featuring red dressings and window surrounds. The building has a brick dentil cornice and an old tiled roof. On the first floor, there are four windows with panels between them, while the ground floor has five windows and an early 19th-century six-panel double door set in a deep panelled reveal, with a small modern addition. At the back, there is a long wing that includes a large central arched window on the first floor facing east, which has a reeded side frame and a fluted band around the arch. The Crown Hotel, along with Nos 8 to 11, forms a group.
