Description
Christchurch is a parish church that has been converted into a house. It was built in 1851 by T.H. Wyatt and features flint construction with limestone banding and dressings, topped with a slate roof. The building consists of a nave and chancel, with an entrance located under the south-west tower. There is a south vestry that is positioned at right angles to the chancel. The chancel has two bays and is supported by angle buttresses, while the nave comprises four bays. Both the nave and chancel have two-light windows designed in a 14th-century style, along with a five-light window on the east side. At the west end, there is an asymmetrical lean-to with gabled windows. The tower has two stages, featuring large two-light upper windows and a short pyramidal stone spire with small lucarnes. The interior has been partially converted for domestic use, but three bays of the nave were not completed at the time of the survey in November 1985. There is a vault located under the tower, and the chancel is divided horizontally into two storeys.
