Description
This listing describes a group of four chest tombs located in the churchyard, 12 meters west of the west end of the Church of St. Andrew in Wootton Rivers. These tombs date from the 19th century and are made of limestone.
To the west, there are two tombs arranged in a row, both featuring moulded tables and fielded side panels, although the inscriptions on the upper faces of the tables are illegible. To the east, there are two more tombs. The northern one has a similar design but includes a chamfered table with an iron cross and fittings, dedicated to Jacob Waite, who died in 1887. The southern tomb has a chamfered table set on a brick base and is uninscribed.
