Description

No. 8 The Shambles is a late medieval building that is adjacent to No. 7 and shares similar architectural features, except it has a stone-tiled roof, two casement windows on the first floor, and lacks a window in the gable. An ornamental wooden string runs above the first-floor windows. The shop front includes 19th-century wooden shop windows and a round-headed lunette above the door. This building is part of a group of listed buildings in The Shambles, which includes the King's Arms Hotel, Nos. 2, 5, and 6 Coppice Hill, Nos. 27 to 29 Silver Street, and No. 2 Kingston Road.
