Description
The arcade between the Museum Block and the Bradleian Building at Marlborough College was designed by architect G E Street and built between 1871 and 1874. It features paired ashlar columns with Romanesque-style foliate capitals supporting brick arches. The structure is divided into groups of four, four, and one by brick piers, with rusticated brick pilasters applied. A cornice with moulded brick modillions runs along the top, and there is a parapet above. The roof has a panelled ceiling supported by moulded rafters. This arcade is part of a group that includes C House, B House, The Museum Block, The Arcade, The Bradleian Building, The North Block, the Porter's Lodge, gates and railings, the Chapel, and A House.
