Description

This is a sundial located about 10 meters south of the chancel of the Church of All Saints in Sutton Mandeville. It dates from the late 17th century and was restored in the 19th century. The sundial is made of limestone and features a chamfered square plinth that supports a cylindrical column topped with a square capping and a ball finial. The capping has an incised clock face with Roman numerals and iron pointers. The base of the sundial includes poetic inscriptions, which are believed to be dated 1685.
