Description

This is a terrace of 18th-century houses located on a hillside. The construction is of coursed rubble, with modern pantile roofs that step up with the slope. The houses have ashlar chimney stacks dividing them. Each house is four storeys high and has two windows. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, paired and separated by wide stone mullions. Each house has a square-headed doorway, except for number 30, which has a stone shell hood above the doorway. The other doorways have flat stone hoods supported by cut stone brackets.

These houses form a group with numbers 5 and 6, and with other listed buildings along Church Street, The Chantry, Little Chantry, and the Catholic Church of St Thomas More on Market Street.
