Description
Number 5 Newtown is a 17th-century building constructed of rubble with a stone-tiled roof and two plain gables. It features two storeys plus attics, with two windows. The attic windows are wood-framed casements, while the ground and first floors have two-light stone-mullioned casements. Attached to the main building is a two-storey stone-tiled wing that has one casement window on each floor and a square-headed door beneath a wood lintel. Number 5, along with Number 6, is part of a group that includes Numbers 27 to 31 and the wall on Newtown, as well as Numbers 7 to 19 on Barton Orchard, and all the listed buildings on Church Street, The Chantry, Little Chantry, and the Catholic Church of St. Thomas More on Market Street.
