Description
The Lodge is an early 19th-century cottage orne located on the south side of Salisbury Road in Codford. It is constructed from flint nodules with yellow brick dressings and features a hipped thatched roof, which has a pair of diagonally-set axial brick stacks. The building is single-storey with a polygonal north front that includes a central ogee-headed six-panelled door. Flanking this door are two-light pointed casements with leaded Y-glazing, all set within a verandah supported by wooden posts. The left and right returns of the building also have two similar pointed casements, with the rear ones located in projecting bays that are not part of the verandah. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension that is not of special interest. The Lodge was likely built as a lodge for Stockton House.
