Description
Nos 41 and 42 Beanis Path are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from coursed chalk blocks and feature a hipped thatched roof with an axial brick stack. The cottages are single-storey with an attic and have a four-window east front. Each cottage has a segmental-headed planked door on the left and right, with two segmental-headed cast-iron casements in the center. There are four eyebrow dormers, each with 2-light cast-iron casements. The right side of the building has a 20th-century porch to the right and a 2-light segmental-headed cast-iron casement to the left and on the first floor. At the rear, there is an outshut with cast-iron casements and a pantiled roof. These cottages are a good, little altered example of 19th-century vernacular architecture.
