Description

The Old Rectory is a part of a former rectory that has been converted into a semi-detached house. It dates from the 17th century, with a late 19th-century wing added to the north. The building is constructed of coursed rubble stone, with some sections rendered, and features a hipped tiled roof. The roof has gable end brick stacks from the 19th century, as well as a 17th-century stack located axial to the earlier range.

The structure is L-shaped and two stories tall, with a three-window front that dates from the 19th century. To the left, there is a four-panelled door set in a 20th-century porch, while to the right are two 2-light chamfered 19th-century mullioned casements and a 20th-century casement. On the first floor, there are two 2-light and one single-light chamfered mullioned casements. The left side of the building has a 2-light casement on both the ground and first floors. The right side features a 20th-century ground floor casement, along with a 2-light and a single chamfered casement on the first floor. The rear of the 19th-century range has additional mullioned casements.

The 17th-century part of the property includes a 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement on the ground floor and two 2-light casements on the first floor of the east side. The west side has a glazed door and a 2-light mullioned casement on the ground floor, along with two 2-light mullioned casements on the first floor, and a hipped attic dormer. Inside, the building features deep chamfered beams and well-crafted first-floor doors with two fielded panels set in moulded architraves.
