Description
The garden gateway and gates located to the north-west of Easton Grey House are an ornamental feature dating from the late 18th century. They were likely moved around 1880 to provide access to a formal garden. The gateway is made of limestone and is set within a low wall constructed of coursed rubble. It includes two pilasters and two Roman Doric columns that support an entablature made of stepped masonry blocks of varying heights. Flanking the central stepped feature are two reclining horses. The gates themselves are finely crafted, featuring a two-leaf design with a wreathed serpentine pattern.
