Description
49 Gloucester Road, formerly known as The Oddfellows Public House, is a public house that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of limestone rubble with roughcast, featuring brick gable stacks and a stone slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high with a three-window range. The left-hand lower floors have quoins, while there is brick infill above and around the first- and second-floor openings. The windows have timber lintels, with the central range set to the left. The doorway features a 4-pane overlight and a door with six flush panels, with the top pair being glazed. On the ground floor, there is a left-hand 8/8-pane sash window in an exposed frame and a right-hand tripartite window with a central 6/6-pane sash and flanking 4/4-pane sashes. The first floor has a similar smaller window above, with a recessed central 6/6-pane sash and left-hand sashes, while the second floor features 4/8-pane sashes and a bricked-up central window. The interior has not been inspected.
