Description
This is a house located at 55 Gloucester Road, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a left-hand brick lateral stack and a stone slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a one-window range. The gabled front has a plinth and a round-arched doorway on the left, which includes a key and imposts, a radial fanlight, and a half-glazed door. To the right of the doorway, there is a cast-iron bootscraper. The windows are fitted with rendered lintels and 2/2-pane sashes, while the attic features a 20th-century casement with a cambered head. Inside, the house has a through hall with tongued and grooved wainscotting and a central lateral stair flight.
