Description

This is an early 19th century building of three storeys, comprising numbers 51 and 52 Long Street. The front is shaped to follow a bend in the street and is faced with Bath stone, with the ground floor painted. A plain parapet sits above a reeded block cornice, which has projecting coping. There are four windows to each of the upper floors, recessed and with intact glazing bars in the sash windows. Block sills are present, and a sill course runs along the first floor. Number 51 has a plain 19th-century shop window and a two-panel door. Number 52 features an early 19th-century shop window, approximately 7 panes wide by 4, flanked by panelled pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice above, and a glazed shop door under a flat hood supported by scroll brackets. The building forms a group with numbers 48 to 52 and is related to number 19 St John’s Street.
