Description

No. 8 Cuttle Lane is a cottage dated 1762, constructed from rubble stone with a stone tiled roof and a brick stack on a stone base at the north end. The building is two storeys high and features a double front with two 2-light cyma moulded mullion windows on each floor, which are small pane windows with sash opening lights. There is a central door that is framed by a cyma-moulded surround, and a 20th-century porch has been added. Above the upper windows, there is a datestone inscribed with "J L S 1762." At the rear, there are two windows, including one original 2-light mullion window on each floor. Nos. 7-9 Cuttle Lane have group value as a range of 18th century cottages under a single roof.
