Description
White Cottage is a building that originally comprised two cottages but has now been converted into one. It dates from the late 17th century and was altered in the mid-19th century. The exterior features painted English bond brick with some timber-framing and a pantiled roof that has a half-hip on the right side, along with brick stacks. The building is two stories high and has two windows. The entrance consists of a planked door, with a two-light casement window to the right and a glazed door with a two-light segmental-headed casement to the left. On the first floor, there are two two-light casements. The right side of the building has a lean-to extension that includes a two-light casement, a fixed window, and a 20th-century planked door, while the first floor displays exposed timber-framing and two-light casements. At the rear, there is an outshut that features casement windows. Inside, the cottage retains timber-framed partitions, chamfered beams with ogee stops, a partially blocked open fireplace, and planked doors.
