Description
No. 47 High Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the mid-18th century and was heightened and refaced in the late 18th century. The building features Flemish bond brickwork and has slate roofs. It is two storeys high with a cellar and has a front that consists of five bays. The central entrance has a pair of half-glazed doors with an overlight set in a panelled reveal. There is a portico supported by Doric pilasters with an entablature. The windows are restored 12-paned sashes with gauged brick lintels. At the rear, there is a wing with three bays that has been extended by one bay beyond the gable stack. The central door in this wing is a six-panelled door with a triangular canopy supported by brackets, and the windows here are sixteen-paned sashes.
