Description
No. 32 Poulton Street is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is built of brick in Flemish bond with sandstone dressings that have been painted. The building features a slate roof and gable stacks, standing three storeys above a cellar. It has two bays that are not quite symmetrical.
The top cornice adds to its architectural detail, while the doorcase, which is accessed by three steps, is framed by engaged Tuscan columns that support a simple cornice. Above the door is a semi-elliptical fanlight. All the windows have plain reveals, stone lintels, and sills, and are fitted with sashes that do not have glazing bars. The original cast-iron railings surrounding the area are still in place, featuring alternating stick balusters and balusters shaped like reversed S's.
