Description
Nos 88 and 89 on Church Street are a pair of cottages from the late 18th century. They are rendered and feature a Bridgwater tiled roof with a brick stack on the rear pitch. The cottages are two stories high and have three windows.
No 88 has a four-panelled door set in a cyma mullioned architrave, with a three-light 20th-century casement window to the right and a 16-pane sash window to the left. No 89 features a door with six fielded panels and a UPVC replacement sash window to the left. On the first floor, No 88 has two 16-pane sash windows, while No 89 has a UPVC window.
These cottages are noted for being among the least altered examples of 18th-century cottages in this row and hold group value with the shop next door on Hill Street.
