Description
Barton Farm House is a mid-19th century building that incorporates parts of an 18th-century house. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves supported by cut brackets. The house has tall brick chimneys with cornicing and stands two storeys high, displaying five ranges of sash windows. The entrance door has two glazed panels and two fielded panels, topped with an oblong fanlight, and is set within a delicate wrought iron porch that once had a tent roof.
The east wing of the house is an early 18th-century addition, also made of red brick, with a pitched tile roof and a tall brick stack. The south elevation is rendered and features a shaped parapet along with two flush-framed cased sashes. The east elevation includes three casements and one attic dormer, while the west elevation has two boarded-up windows and one casement with lead glazing bars.
