Description

Southfield is an 18th-century building located on Bridewell Street. It features chequered brickwork with some blue header diapering. The west front is rendered, while the south front is made of dressed flint with ashlar dressings. The roof is hipped and covered with old tiles, and there are tall brick stacks. The building has two storeys and attics, with two ranges of sash windows that include glazing bars. The west elevation is adorned with a stucco pediment supported by very elaborate late 19th-century terracotta consoles.
