Description
Elmhurst is a building constructed between 1862 and 1863, designed by architect William White. It is made of brick and partly covered with tiles, featuring a pitched tile roof and ashlar coped gables. The building has two storeys and attics, with some stone-mullioned windows. There is one canted bay window with casements. The entrance includes a pointed arched door located behind a porch in antis, which also has a pointed arch with moulded brick voussoirs supported by ashlar corbels. Above the entrance, there are two small single-light windows with cusped pointed arches, along with voussoirs made of ashlar. Further north on the building, there are two pairs of pointed arches, each with moulded brick voussoirs.
