Description
Whetham Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of squared ironstone with ashlar dressings and Bridgwater tile roofs. It features coped gables and end stacks. The building is tall, with three storeys and a three-window front that includes large segmental-headed openings. The façade has flush quoins and flush ashlar banding over the ground and first floors, topped with a moulded eaves cornice. The windows are casements with top-lights, typically four-light, except for the centre where the first and second floor windows are narrower and three-light. There is a central arched doorway with a six-panel door, a fanlight, and a large hood supported by brackets. The end gables are also banded in ashlar, and there are paired hipped rear wings that have similar segmental-headed windows.
