Description
The bridge located immediately north-northwest of Whaddon Grove Farmhouse is a structure dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and serves as a small single-span farm accommodation bridge over Semington Brook, which is a tributary of the River Avon. The bridge features a segmental arch with a stringcourse above, and it has ashlar parapets and abutments that return at the ends. The parapets have been lightly rendered. It is reputedly built for the Long family, who were clothiers and part of the Wiltshire gentry.
