Description

The Semington Aqueduct is an aqueduct that carries the Kennet and Avon Canal over Semington Brook. It was built in the late 18th century to early 19th century and features ashlar stonework that has been patched with brick. The structure includes a single stilted segmental arch with channelled voussoirs and a rectangular cyma-moulded recessed panel above the arch. The ashlar parapet has weathered coping, and the swept revetment walls curve away from the canal. The Kennet and Avon Canal was constructed between 1786 and 1810.
