Description
The Beckford Arms is an inn dating from around 1800. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a tiled hipped roof with brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and has five windows, all of which are sash windows. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set in a moulded ashlar case. To the front, there is a five-sided bay with twelve-pane sashes and an additional sash window to the right, while the left side has two twelve-pane sashes. On the first floor, there are five six-pane sashes.
To the right of the main building, there is a two-storey extension from the early 19th century, which includes twenty-four-pane flush sashes and a six-panelled door on the ground floor, along with two fifteen-pane sashes on the first floor. This extension has a hipped slate roof and a 20th-century addition at the front. The left side of the building features a canted bay with twelve-pane sashes on the ground floor and a two-light casement window on the first floor. At the rear, there is a single-storey 20th-century lean-to extension, along with external stacks and sash windows. The interior has not been inspected.
