Description
Beckford Lodge is a detached house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a thatched roof with gable end brick stacks and coped verges. The building is two stories tall with two windows on the front. The central entrance has an 8-panelled door topped by a flat wooden hood supported by posts, with a 3-light casement window on either side. On the first floor, there are two 3-light casement windows. To the left, there is a single-storey extension that includes a 3-light casement on the ground floor and a 2-light casement in the attic. The left side of the house has a 4-panelled door and a 19th-century square bay window, along with a single casement window in the attic and a rear outshut featuring a 2-light casement. The main house has a rear wing with a thatched roof and casement windows. Inside, there are 4-panelled doors, window shutters, Victorian fireplace grates, and planked doors leading to the first floor. The property was illustrated in Country Life on December 28, 1901, as The Foresters' Cottage.
