Description
The T. Sealy monument is a chest tomb located about 6 meters east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary in Seagry. This monument dates from the later 18th century and is constructed from ashlar stone. It features a moulded base and cornice, with a pulvinated frieze that is broken forward over the central plaques. The angles are fluted balusters. On the south side, there is a fine oval plaque bordered with an egg-and-dart motif, accompanied by rich floral drops on either side. The north side has a rectangular plaque with drapery drops on each side. The inscription commemorates Thomas Sealy, who died in 1831.
