Description
Barton Cottage is a 16th- to 17th-century cottage located in Tockenham. It is timber framed with brick infill, built upon a stone sill wall, and has a hipped thatched roof. The cottage is positioned end-on to the street and is one storey high with an attic. Originally, it comprised three bays, later extended with a brick bay at each end. A central stack and a gable stack are present on the original structure. The original entrance was positioned across the face of the principal stack. The interior features exposed ceiling joists and cross beams tenoned into wall posts.
