Description

Nos 2-4 are a row of three houses built in the 17th and 18th centuries. They are constructed of rubble stone, with some parts limewashed, and feature stone tiled roofs. The central house, No 2, is likely from the late 17th century and has two storeys and an attic, with end wall stacks. The south front includes a large 19th-century central dormer, two first-floor two-light windows, and one three-light window on the ground floor to the right, all with recessed ovolo-moulded detailing and a hoodmould. The door is located to the ground floor left, and the building has flush quoins. The rear of No 2 has a small hipped dormer, two ground floor two-light windows, and a blocked door.

No 3, which is attached to the east, is one-and-a-half storeys tall with an east end stack. Its south front features a wall face stack to the left, a central dormer gable above the eaves with a two-light bead-moulded window, and a three-light recessed ovolo-moulded window from the 17th century on the ground floor center, with a casement window to the left. The rear has a similar dormer gable with a two-light bead-moulded window, with a door and casement below. There is evidence that the roof has been raised at the end wall.

No 4, located to the west of No 2, is also one-and-a-half storeys with a west-end stack and a coped west gable. It features a dormer gable with a two-light recessed ovolo-moulded window, a single ovolo-moulded light on the ground floor, and a two-light flush cyma-moulded window. The rear includes a door and a two-light flush cyma-moulded window, with a 19th-century eaves dormer above.
