Description

A row of four houses located at 11-14 Park Lane, built around 1850. The houses are constructed of limestone ashlar with shallow-pitched slate roofs and brick stacks on the party walls and gable ends. They have double-depth plans. The exterior is two storeys high; numbers 11 to 13 are each one window wide, while number 14 on the left is two windows wide and slightly taller. Features include raised surrounds, eaves and first-floor bands. The windows are sash windows with 6/6 panes and lack horns. The doors are four-panel doors with narrow overlights. Number 11 has 20th-century windows, while numbers 12 and 13 have 20th-century windows to the ground floor. There are paired doors to the right of numbers 12 and 13, set beneath a blind window in the party wall, and paired doors to the right of number 14 (the door furthest to the right being a 20th-century replacement, likely a former passage entrance to the rear). The interior of the houses has not been inspected. These houses represent a well-preserved example of artisan housing, built following the arrival of the railway in 1840-1841.
