Description

Restrop Farmhouse is a 17th and 18th century farmhouse located in Purton. It is constructed of limestone rubble, largely covered with diaper brickwork, and has a stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high with a cellar and has four bays at the front, with two single-bay rear wings. It follows a lobby entry plan. A half-glazed door is situated under a pitched brick porch. One bay to the left is rendered stone with a two-storey canted bay window to the gable. Sixteen-pane sashes flank the porch, while the remaining windows are 19th-century timber casements, all with segmental brick arches. The exterior features a plat band and brick-on-edge dentilled eaves. Two small, hipped dormers covered in stone slate are present, along with a brick stack. The interior retains chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. The farm was originally known as Redstreke Farm.
