Description
The stables at South Pavenhill Farm were built in 1777. They feature a diaper brick facing over rubble stonework and have a stone gable with a slate roof. The structure consists of six bays that run along Upper Pavenhill, and there is an external stair leading to the attic floor. Inside, there are five trusses made of elbowed principal rafters resembling quasi-crucks, which support a butt purlin roof, although some alterations have been made over time. A datestone in the gable indicates the initials TP and the year 1777, referring to Thomas Plummer.
