Description
The Barton is a 17th-century building that originally comprised three cottages and is now a house. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone tiled roof with end wall stacks. The building is one and a half storeys high and has a double front with two dormer gables. Each floor includes two 2-light recessed mullion windows that have hoodmoulds. The upper windows are hollow-moulded, while the ground floor left window has an ovolo-moulded mullion, and the ground floor right window is also ovolo-moulded. There is a central door set in a flush chamfered doorcase. To the right, there is an extension that has Bridgwater tiles and an end wall stack. The rear of the original range mostly features 20th-century windows, although there is one original ground floor mullion window. The building was formerly listed as Nos 3 to 5 The Barton.
