Description
Lawn Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1869 for the Marquess of Westminster of Fonthill Abbey. It is constructed from rock-faced limestone and features a Welsh slate roof with coped verges and brick stacks. The building has a T-plan layout and is two storeys high with a three-window front. To the right of the center, there is a Tudor-arched planked door with ornamental hinges, accompanied by a 2-light chamfered mullioned casement to the right and two 2-light mullioned casements to the left. On the first floor, there are two 2-light mullioned casements with gables to the left and one 2-light casement in the cross wing to the right. The left side of the building has a Tudor-arched doorway and a 3-light mullioned casement on the ground floor, with a 2-light casement above on the first floor. The rear features an external stack and additional 2-light mullioned casements. The interior has not been inspected. Lawn Farmhouse is a typical example of large estate farmhouses found in this area.
