Description
The structure consists of a bridge, gate piers, gates, and a moat wall located to the north of Cole Park. The moat wall features a Tudor substructure with an 18th-century upper section. The bridge and gate piers are also from the 18th century, while the gates were added in the early 20th century. The wall is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar coping, the bridge is made of squared and coursed dressed stone, and the gate piers are made of ashlar. The gates are crafted from wrought iron and timber. The moat wall stands 1.5 meters high and extends from the former stable range to the north-west corner of the moat, with copings that ramp up to the central gate piers. The gate piers rise to 2 meters and feature rustication and ball finials, while the gates consist of two leaves with timber panels. The bridge has a single arch span with coped side walls.
