Description
Pike House is a turnpike keeper's house built in the early 19th century, with a late 20th-century rear addition. The structure features squared and coursed rubble, along with squared and coursed dressed stone and ashlar dressings on the east, which faces the road. It has a gabled Welsh slate roof and an ashlar stack at the ridge. The low range is set at right angles to the road and has a pedimented east front, which includes two canted bays supported by brackets, featuring triangular-headed sashed lights. These are connected above by a lean-to slate porch, and there is a central plank door. The rear addition includes casement windows and a six-panel door in a 'Georgian' style, complete with a spoked fanlight.
