Description
Nos 34 and 35 Market Place are early 19th century buildings that stand three storeys tall, constructed from painted brick and mathematical tiles. They feature steep pitch mansard roofs covered with slate, each having one dormer. Both buildings have one window on the upper floors. No 34 has later canted bay windows with sash lights that do not have glazing bars, along with moulded surrounds and a tile-hung apron on the first floor. No 35 has recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars on the second floor. The ground floor of both buildings has been modernized for shops. Together with The Chough Hotel, No 37, and Lloyds Bank, they form a cohesive group.
