Description
51 Salt Lane is an early 18th-century building that was altered in the early 19th century. It stands two storeys high with an attic, constructed of red brick on a projecting plinth. There is a moulded band between the storeys, and the roof has a steep pitch with old tiles, featuring a moulded and covered eaves cornice. The building has two hipped roof dormers with tile-hung cheeks and two-light casements. On the first floor, there are three windows set in architrave frames with intact glazing bars. The ground floor has two windows without glazing bars and coupled doors, one of which is blocked, previously part of the now-demolished No 49. The doors have four panels and a rectangular fanlight, framed by a plain stucco surround and a projecting moulded cornice.
