Description
54 and 56 Bedwin Street is a late 16th century timber-framed building that was refronted in the 18th century. It has two storeys and is constructed of colourwashed brick. The building features a gable end with a steep pitch roof covered in old tiles, along with one hipped dormer window. The windows are irregular casements, including a three-light Yorkshire casement on the first floor. There are two plain doors; the door for No 56 has a plain surround and hood, while No 54 has a small bracketed hood. Inside, some of the timber framing is visible, and there is a good roof with trusses and V braces, along with some original wattle and daub filling still intact. Nos 54 to 60 (even) form a group.
