Description

This is a chest tomb located about 3 metres south of the Church of St Mary in Dilton Marsh, likely dating from the late 17th century. It is made of limestone and features a plinth with two shield-shaped panels on the main sides. These panels are decorated with relief-carved scroll designs and corner pilasters. The west end panel includes three cherubs, while the east panel displays a heraldic cartouche. The tomb has a cornice leading to a cyma-moulded flat top. The inscriptions on the tomb are illegible.
