Description

This is a terrace of three houses, now incorporating one shop, built in the early 19th century in Calne. The houses are constructed of rendered limestone rubble with brick ridge stacks and a pantile roof. They follow a double-depth plan.

The terrace is two storeys and an attic in height, with a 2:1:2 window arrangement. Number 37 has a late 19th-century shop front featuring timber pilasters and a cornice, a six-panel door, a small window to the right, and two late 19th-century three-light casement windows to the first floor. Number 39 has a mid-20th-century door and similar three-light casement windows. Number 40 has a double-fronted appearance with a boarded door, a similar three-light casement window to the ground floor on the right, and mid-20th-century windows. Three gabled dormers, each with a mid-20th-century window, light the attic. The interior has not been inspected.
