Description

34 and 36 Church Street are a pair of houses with shops, built in the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed from limestone rubble, with No. 34 rendered and both featuring red brick stacks and pantile roofs. The buildings have a double-depth plan and rise to two storeys. Each house has a two-window range, with late 19th-century 2/2-pane and plate-glass sashes on the first floor. Both properties display mid to late 19th-century shop fronts that include pilasters and projecting cornices, though the fenestration has been altered. No. 34 features a late 20th-century glazed door on the left, while No. 36 includes gabled roof dormers. The interiors have not been inspected.
