Description
The Melcock monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 9 metres south of the nave of the Church of St. James in North Newnton. It features a moulded table and base, with raised paired side panels positioned between reeded end pilasters. The panels are separated by a draped urn. This monument commemorates John Melcock, along with his wife and son, and he died in 1826.
