Description
Manor House is a house from the early 19th century, built after 1812 for John Grant on the site of an earlier house from 1723. It is constructed of grey gault brick and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high with five bays and is two rooms deep. The centre bay is slightly recessed and features a central six-panel door set within a wide doorcase, topped by a flat canopy supported by four brackets. Above the door is a round fanlight. The windows are twelve-pane sashes, and there is an upper window on the left side with a reset lintel that bears the date 1803. A bow window is located on the east side. At the rear, there is a late 19th to early 20th century two-storey central canted porch with a gabled roof, which includes a conservatory on the upper floor and a glazed roof. The eaves are moulded. Inside, there is a staircase leading to the rear beyond a square entrance hall, and there are reeded fireplaces. The wing to the left rear is said to be earlier but has been entirely altered in the late 19th to early 20th century.
