Description
Crossways is a house located on the north side of Seend High Street. It dates from the early 19th century and is a recasing of an earlier range, likely from the 17th century, originally timber-framed. The exterior is finished in painted brick and features a steep hipped roof covered with Bridgwater tiles, along with an off-centre ridge stack and a stack at the south end.
The front displays irregular brickwork and includes three pairs of 19th-century casement windows on the upper floor. The ground floor features a 16-pane sash window and a door to the left of centre, which is set in a gabled tiled porch supported by two crudely carved columns. To the right of the door is a 20th-century window. The south end of the house is roughcast.
The rear of the building has a projecting chimney-gable to the left, with a triple casement window on the first floor and two pairs of casement windows. The ground floor has two triple casements, which are topped with blank cambered arches. The interior has not been inspected.
